What HockeyShot Claims

According to the product page, the Extreme Triangle Passer is built to maximize on-ice training with a multi-sided design that lets up to 3 players practice passing techniques and one-timers. Compact, durable, retractable spikes for ice use. Let's see how it holds up in practice.

Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  1. Built to last. Solid metal construction with durable rubber bands that act as the rebounder. Multiple passes at varying speeds — hard and soft — all returned cleanly. Sturdy enough to handle serious training sessions.
  2. Compact and portable. Easy to move wherever you want to train. Just bring a hex key or Allen wrench to adjust the spikes to whatever surface you're working on.
  3. Good price. At $139.99 with fast 2-day shipping, this is solid value compared to pricier passing tools on the market.

❌ Cons

  • Minor: During dryland training, you'll want to add some extra weight on top to keep it stable — the spikes are optimized for ice. A 25 lb dumbbell on top does the trick.
  • Major: Pucks can slide under the rubber band at certain angles (roughly 45 degrees) during dryland use. Likely because the spikes lift the bands slightly off the surface — something that doesn't happen on ice. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing before you buy.

Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

The few cons don't move the needle enough to knock this product down at all. It works well for dryland and even better on ice. Any hockey player serious about improving their passing and one-timer accuracy should have one of these in their setup. HockeyShot built something that earns its spot as a permanent fixture in a garage synthetic rink. Highly recommended.
