One of the NHL's Best Goal Scorers — 1.5" White Tape, Heel to Toe with Wax
Cole Caufield's tape job is clean, simple, and effective — just like his game. Here's how to copy the Caufield tape job.
Materials Needed
- Hockey stick: Pro Blackout Extra Lite with P28 curve from HockeyStickMan.com (Caufield uses the P90M, which is similar but slightly less aggressive in the toe)
- Tape: 1.5-inch white hockey cloth tape (Renfrow brand recommended)
- Scissors (for trimming toe)
- Hockey wax
Key Components of Cole Caufield's Tape Job
- White 1.5-inch tape, starting from the backhand side, heel to toe.
- Unroll excess tape at the toe to make covering the toe easier, then trim.
- Add a light coat of wax to finish.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Starting on the backhand side at the heel, place the tape about three-quarters of the way up and begin wrapping toward the toe. Keep overlap to about 1/8th the tape width.
- Near the toe, unroll a large piece of tape (more than enough) to make covering the toe easier. Finish the toe completely and press all edges down tight.
- Trim the excess tape at the toe with scissors.
- Apply a light coat of wax. Keep it light.
Caufield tape job done. Go score some goals.
